Hi, Leif, Jesse, George, et. al.,

I've been scouring a number of threads looking for what I might be missing.  I have seen threads that say you cannot use two sound cards, and this one implies you can.  I am trying to use BBP ASIO in a streaming box configured like so:

-Studio Analog L/R in through M-Audio Delta AP192
-M-Audio Wave Out to Vendor's Spot Substitution Software
-Software Wave out to EMU 0404PCI Wave IN
-EMU 0404 Physical Analog L/R Outputs to Watermarking Hardware
-Watermarking Hardware back into EMU through Physical L/R
-Send to ASIO for BBP L/R In
-BBP L/R FM out through ASIO back into EMU
-EMU final mix Send Wave to Vendor encoding package (Or for offline test, Windows Media Encoder)

All at 48k except the initial input to the M-Audio is 44.1.

I followed George's EMU 0404 set up instructions at http://www.forumclaessonedwards.com/forum/index.php/topic,2145.msg11217.html#msg11217 and things seemed to be falling into place.  I set up BBP I/O to ASIO channels.

However, once I reopened the the PatchMix for the EMU strange things happened.  The I/O setup for BBP, with EMU selected, would indicate everything from 'Invalid' to 'PCI Card In L A' on the left input and the same for right.  The menu selections were limited on both in and out. The Output does indicate the ASIO channels for the left and the right (ASIO OUT 31/32 A).  The interesting thing is that BBP is receiving audio from the EMU, but there is no real return.  I do see some noise indicated on the Peak Meter inserted on the EMU channel strip.  If using the BBP I/O setup and turning the test tone on and off, I see the noise come and go.

I saw the ASIO4All thread- would that help, or just add to the confusion?

Regular BBP does work reasonably well when placed completely after the EMU and before the encoder, except at times both versions will grab the EMU physical input and the audio is not returned.  Have not dug enough on that to see a pattern yet.

    Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
    thanks

    KS
