In a RDP session there is no audio driver available. In my RDP client i leave the sound at the remote (server) site.
I think that’s what he already did.

And FYI, on the machine I’m talking about, the used soundcard is a Terratec Aureon 5.1 Sky (cost me about 25 € on eBay), using Terratec drivers. I purely disabled the internal Realtek soundcard. I have the same things as you, no usable soundcard on Windows. You can hear it there : http://www.radiomaxxi.com

Check if RDP is not overloading your computer. Try out with some VNC app if this could work better. I know by experience (and other people here did too) I got problems with RDP and setting up Breakaway (mouse jumps and turns settings all the way up or down).

FYI, the picture "full blown FM + streaming with low latency monitoring" is still not updated 🙂

I have a similar configuration (Win2008 with Breakaway Live running on it, accessed by RDP) but my configuration uses an ASIO card, which therefore doesn’t shows up at all in Windows Soundcards. But you should try to set the default Windows soundcard to anything not related to Breakaway (some unused (virtual) soundcard for example) and see if this helps.

I personally dont listen to 128 K MP3s, just too many distorsion in them (minimum is 192 for me). But when I have to, or when it’s badly (re)encoded, I prefer to disable or lower the sound processing because any sound processing is a MAGNIFYING GLASS to glitches and bad compression. You hear much more the lousy less with a sound processor (which will try its best to turn up the lost frequencies due to the mp3 algorithm, thus increasing the loss).

But as I said in a previous post, as long as I only hear to 192 or flac/wav only, I always use Breakaway (Live in my case) on my listenings (even for films or games). And I really wait to see the new versions coming!

I’m interested by a discount for upgrading Breakaway Audio Enhancer to Breakaway Live too, if you know when you’ll do it… ?

OK I seem to understand, it docks only if the window is near to one of the edges. Anyway I don’t have the toolbar option 🙂

Here is what my Breakaway Live window looks like, and the context menu. I’m using Windows Server 2003 32 bits. I don’t have the Toolbar option, as you can see. I upgraded to 96 before this bug happened (when I was trying to have the toolbar). Could you tell me how to reset window configuration so that I can try to trigger the bug again? Now it’s stuck in this situation…

I’m not that new to Breakaway, weve been using for a year for FM broadcasting, but I’m new to this forum that’s right. We were looking for some hardware processing, and if Breakaway does it with advanced configuration, that would be amazingly great ! 🙂

Thanks a lot for the answer 🙂 I always was wondering what was the difference between Broadcast and Speaker. Now here it is… I’ll try it as soon as I get my license.
